Ultra lightweight, effective and durable
Purchased my alpine start hoodie in 2014 and it has served me well. An excellent lightweight layer for any situation. Despite how light and thin the material is it blocks wind shockingly well and even offers decent water resistance after 11 years of regular use. Despite many washes and a decade of w...

Blocks the wind without overheating
I run hot!!
Climbing up towards 14k' in just a sun hoody, the wind was starting to get to me. Threw this bad boy on over top and it was the perfect layer. Blocked the wind while still allowing me to stay cool and relaxed focused on the climb.

Great hood and lightweight
Again great hood and neck cuff. Also perfectly lightweight. It feels breathable and un-bulky. With a warm mid layer it feels like you could do a lot as long as you either plan to exert yourself to stay warm, or seek shelter if a downpour will drench you. But Enough for light rain if needed.

Great for above treeline
Lightweight and does great against high-speed winds in the alpine. Not so great against rain, but it handles wind like a champ. Also, surprisingly warm for those cooler mornings in the mountains. Overall, very happy with it. I’m 5’11, 165 pounds and found the medium fits perfect.

Very comfortable soft shell with good freedom of movement and enough wind/rain resistant. Nicely packable. My go to alpine climbing hoody. 5'9 150lbs and the large feels great.
